Kathleen Welsh Beveridge

, President and founder of Spark Nonprofit Consulting, LLC, has more than 17 years of experience in fundraising and leadership in the nonprofit sector. She is a confident program builder, teacher, and spark of inspiration who always exceeds expectations.

As Executive Director of the Bucks County Women’s Fund, Kathy quickly and dramatically expanded the image and reputation of the Fund, engaging hundreds of new volunteers and donors in its mission. She conducted a community needs assessment; developed a new strategic direction for the Fund; and crafted a professional report outlining a blueprint for action. In addition, she generated broad-based collaboration on key community issues by establishing the Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition: a groundbreaking nonpartisan coalition of Bucks County women and over 20 nonprofit organizations that serve them.

Kathy has 10 years of extraordinarily results-oriented development experience at top-tier universities.

At Temple University, Kathy helped to build a stellar advisory board for the Ambler College that was the envy of many other units. She increased annual fundraising from $50,000 per year to more than $1 million and engaged the broader community in support of the Landscape Arboretum of Temple University Ambler.

At the University of Pennsylvania, Kathy managed all aspects of corporate and foundation relationships for the School of Nursing, resulting in $2 million in grants each year. She also raised over $1 million in foundation start-up funding for the Living Independently for Elders Program (a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly that is entirely managed by nurses).

In just two years at Villa Joseph Marie High School, Kathy initiated a capital campaign readiness strategy and programs in annual fundraising, alumnae relations, and public relations, creating a semiannual newsletter to successfully promote these initiatives.

Kathy’s experiences at Temple University, Villa Joseph Marie High School, and the Bucks County Women’s Fund were all startups where she quickly delivered results that substantially exceeded expectations. Her efforts raised visibility for these institutions in the community, greatly expanding their base of support and community engagement in their missions.

Kathy holds a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. She also holds a certificate from the Wharton Management Program and undergraduate degrees in Government and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Kathy is a 15-year resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She lives with her husband and two sons in Warminster.
